XC toughness

Just making the point that most football games are off for Saturday due to the forecasts of rough weather. Meanwhile, the state sectional cross country meets are still on!! So much for football being the toughest sports and one that plays in all elements.

Sophomore forward Caroline Stewart scored 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting in 19 minutes as the Boston University women’s basketball team dropped its season opener to the University of Kentucky Friday afternoon, 92-58.
Stewart, a former Masconomet standout, came off the bench  and converted 6-of-9 free throws and grabbed two rebounds. She missed her only three-point attempt.

St. John’s Prep sophomore Nick McLaughlin became just the third golfer from the school to capture the Division 1 state individual championship when he fired a 72 at Turner Hill in Ipswich earlier this week.
