The Ipswich High softball team took it as a great omen earlier this week when career all-star Kerry Desmond was back on the mound against Wayland in the Division 3 North Tournament.
Desmond, who has had a shoulder problem since early in the season, pitched the first two innings as the Tigers destroyed Wayland, 20-3.
