Brendan Fullerton was a huge part of Beverly's success in 2005.

A pie in the face of this scribe in today’s Around the Horn baseball column.

Turns out Peter Kallas, Matt Lanza and Frank Messina weren’t just alive the last time Beverly won an NEC baseball title. They were eighth-graders and just months away from setting foot in the hallowed halls on Sohier Road.

It’s come to our attention that in 2005, the Panthers were NEC South co-champs. That year Beverly was 9-11 and won a state tourney game before bowing out against Reading in a 10-9 nail-biter. Seems we were confused by the NEC split in those days, as we had Danvers (19-3) as the sole NEC champs in our records.

Whoops.
