Expect delays at Gloucester Crossing on Friday

Police are cautioning drivers to  expect delays in the Gloucester Crossing area tomorrow morning.
Police Sgt. Joe Shairs said workers from Verizon will be digging up the street to repair an underground telephone line. The work could start as soon as 6 a.m. and traffic could be diverted to other streets, Shairs said.

Vacant store on Essex Street to re-open

The former Li’l Peach on Essex Street that has been closed for three years has been bought by convenience store owner Amit Patel of Beverly. Patel said he plans to re-open the store as a grocery store this summer.

Rogers named new Danvers football coach

Sean Rogers, who has served as an assistant for the Danvers High football team the last three years, has been officially named the team’s new head coach, athletic director John Sullivan said today.
An Amesbury native, Rogers takes over the position from Sullivan.
