Boxford’s Chris Kreider will make his first appearance on the United States senior men’s national team at the IIHF World Championship’s in January, USA Hockey announced.
Kreider is the only non-professional player on Team USA, which includes Olympian Jack Johnson and NHL stars T.J. Oshie, Kyle Okposo, Brandon Dubinsky, Tim Kennedy, Keith Yandle as well as former Maine stars Mike Lundin and Ben Bishop and BU Hobey Baker winner Matt Gilroy.
Kreider was a first round pick of the New York Rangers in 2009 and helped Boston College win the NCAA title as a freshman. He helped the Team USA Under-18 team in gold at the World Junior Championships in January.
