Body of Fortunato’s fellow soldier returns to Texas

While Army Spc. Stephen Fortunato’s body returned home to Beverly yesterday, a similar scene played out in Center, Texas. Spc. Cory Bertrand, who died along with Fortunato and Sgt. Preston Medley of Florida in the explosion in Afghanistan, was also returned home. KTRE.com has a video of the ceremony.
Council OK’s golf club fix-up, waterfront parking changes

The City Council last night approved spending $1.5 million on improvements at the city-owned Beverly Golf and Tennis Club, as well as the waterfront parking changes designed to require fewer parking spaces for the proposed Black Cow restaurant.
