Tsongas out

Count Lowell Congresswoman Niki Tsongas out of the race for Kennedy’s seat.
Her office just issued a release (about 1 p.m.) stating that a report in Sunday’s Lowell Sun that she was giving the idea serious thought was incorrect.
“I feel privileged to serve in the U.S. Congress and my efforts are entirely focused on effectively representing the people of the Merrimack Valley and the communities of the Fifth Congressional District,” Tsongas stated.
Our own congressman, John Tierney, D-Salem, by the way, has no interest in the job either.

    can't believe Tierney really has no interest. you think he just knows he wouldn't win? its tough to be a Democrat in Mass., this is probably as high as Tierney will ever get.
