Jay Walsh has stepped down after 10 years as member of the Board of Health. Walsh was the city’s health director for many years. Jerry Parisella, a Beverly attorney and the assistant city solicitor in Salem, has been appointed by Mayor Bill Scanlon to take Walsh’s place.

The Planning Board did not vote last night on the proposal to build a CVS with a drive-thru pharmacy at the corner of Rantoul and Elliott streets. The topic will come up again at the board’s next meeting on March 2 at the library.
