Innocenti Park will soon be turning green. Workers have already laid new sod around the McPherson Youth Center and will soon be doing the same at adjacent Innocenti. The whole area has been dug up since the city discovered contamination under the ground last year.

The Cabot Street end of Balch Street was closed this morning, but Public Services Director Michael Collins just said it should be back open soon. Workers are preparing Balch Street to be paved. They’ll also be paving Herrick Street and the Balch-to-Herrick portion of Cabot, so you can expect delays over the next few weeks.

Have you noticed those big green recycling bins popping up around the city? The city’s recycling coordinator, Peter Seamans, said this morning that 560 people have signed up to buy one and 400 have been sold so far.
