Members of the First Universalist Society of Salem marched in the Pride Parade in Boston on Saturday.

North Shore residents marched through pouring rain Saturday in the annual Pride Parade in Boston.

Republican candidate for governor Charlie Baker, of Swampsoctt, walked in the parade with a group of supporters. He is challenging Gov. Deval Patrick, who was in the parade as well.

Members of the First Universalist Society of Salem also marched and carried a banner.

The Boston Pride Committee runs a week of events each June to promote lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender awareness. For information on Pride Week and the last day of events today, click here.
